Kevin Xu, 36, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China was sentenced last Thursday to 6½ years in prison for distributing counterfeit and misbranded pharmaceuticals within the United States. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Criminal Investigations (FDA) jointly conducted the investigation and Acting U.S. Attorney Tim Johnson, Southern District of Texas, prosecuted the case. |

An anti-counterfeiting booth — which focused on educating attendees on the negative impacts of counterfeit parts — was organized at the Automechanika Shanghai show and co-sponsored by member companies of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) China Aftermarket Forum (CAF). The booth was coordinated by the Quality Brands Protection Committee (QBPC) and its Automotive Industry Working Group (AIWG). |

A 22-year-old Livingston resident is suspected of counterfeiting at least 43 hundred-dollar bills, federal officials said Thursday in Baton Rouge.
Rebecca A. Milton is charged with one count of passing counterfeit currency.
If convicted, Milton could be sentenced up to 20 years in prison, U.S. Attorney David R. Dugas said. |

Two Danbury men pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday for their roles in the manufacture and distribution of thousands of dollars worth of fake $100 bills last year. Wesli Camargo, 33, admitted printing the phony Federal Reserve notes on a color copier in his State Street apartment and selling them for 30 cents on the dollar to several other men, who passed them at various stores in Connecticut and Florida. |
